Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Austrian former bodybuilder/actor/politician, and was born on July 30, 1947. Arnold began as a champion bodybuilder and even starred in a documentary about the sport called Pumping Iron in 1977. His first major acting role was in 1982's Conan The Barbarian. In 1984, he followed that up with a Conan sequel and perhaps his best known role as the emotionless T-800 cyborg in James Cameron's The Terminator. Arnold's action resume is second to none, starring in such films as Commando, Raw Deal, Predator, The Running Man, Red Heat, Total Recall, Terminator 2, and True Lies over the course of the 80's and early 90's. For a time, Schwarzenegger was the most bankable star in the world. After a string of commercial flops in the mid 90's to early 00's (Jingle All The Way, End Of Days, Batman & Robin, Junior), Arnold left acting following the completion of Terminator 3 in 2003. He ran for and successfully won the office of Governor of California, and was subsequently re-elected to a second term in 2006. Now finished with politics, the "Governator" plans to return to films with a lead role in The Expendables 2 in summer 2012.
