Brian J. White was born near Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Estelle, a financial advisor, and Jo Jo White, a basketball player for the Boston Celtics and sports executive. He is the oldest and only male of six children. White, a graduate of Dartmouth College, was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He resides in Los Angeles, California.<p>

White has played in both the NFL and the NLL (lacrosse), earned his certifications as a licensed stock broker (series 6, 7, 63 and 65) and co-founded the professional dance company/community youth outreach organization Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Theater. He is also the President of Celebrity Relations for Warm2Kids (www.warm2kids.org), an online membership community dedicated to inspiring teens and young adults to make positive life decisions and to ensure that no young person or family suffers in silence. Additionally White is a founding partner along with director, Sylvain White of White, LCC (www.whitellc.com) and Media 3 Films, LLC (www.media3films.com), full-service film, television and broadband finance and production companies both based in Los Angeles, CA.<p>

White began acting on the small screen, displaying a strong presence in a number of television series such as Moesha, The Parkers, MTV's Spyder Games, UPN's comedy Second Time Around and most notably, as Detective Tavon Garris on the award-winning FX crime drama, The Shield. White moved to film roles. Some of his more notable ones were in Tom Bezucha's The Family Stone, opposite an all-star cast, Rian Johnson's Independent Spirit Award-nominated film, Brick and as Sylvester, the leader of the Theta Nu Theta fraternity in the musical-drama Stomp the Yard, about a young man who, after the death of his brother, is sent to live in Atlanta where he is introduced to college and fraternity life. His most recent roles were opposite Gabrielle Union in Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls and in Disney's box office hit The Game Plan. In 2007, he also starred alongside Jason Statham in the fantasy-adventure epic In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.

In 2008 he will appear opposite Channing Tatum and Terrance Howard in Rogue Pictures Fighting and also alongside World Wrestling Entertainment superstar, John Cena in the Fox Atomic film 12 Rounds. He also has a recurring role as Lt. Carl Davis on Producer, Joel Silver's hit new drama series, Moonlight for CBS.<p>
