Jesse Eden Metcalfe was born on December 9, 1978 in Waterford, Connecticut. Jesse's parents are Scott Metcalfe and Nancy DeMaio. Scott Metcalfe--Jesse's father-- is mixed with French and Portuguese. Nancy Demaio-- Jesse's mother-- is Italian American. Jesse attended NYU from 1996-1999, but he did not graduate. Jesse worked as a model, doing commercial and print work for Seventeen and YM.

He is most recognized as Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on the NBC soap opera Passions and as John Rowland on the ABC TV drama Desperate Housewives. In October 2005, rumors started to circulate that Metcalfe wanted to exit Desperate Housewives in order to return to Passions as Miguel. However, Metcalfe had made it clear that he is "looking forward," and fans should not hold out hope for his return to the NBC soap.

Jesse's hobbies are sculpting, basketball, piano and golf. Jesse has a guitar, also, and likes to sing. During his free time, Jesse participates in celebrity basketball games for the Hollywood Knights to raise money for charity.
