Paul Andrew 'Andy' Richter was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan October 28, 1966. His father was a professor at Indiana University, and his mother was a kitchen cabinet designer. He grew up in Yorkville, Illinois. When Andy was 4, his parents got divorced. In high school, Andy was voted prom king, and later attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, but then switched to Chicago's Columbia College to pursue a career in film. He signed up for severel improv groups, and night clubs, and soon met light-night host Conan O'Brien. On March 14, 1994; he married long time love, Sarah Thyre, and they have one child.
