10x7: The Exploding Azalea recap: Armchair Theatre's episode "The Exploding Azalea" deals with the planning of a murder.
The story is set in a small European capital before the First World War. Three anarchists (played by Kenneth Haigh, George Murcell and James Maxwell)—men of very different character and motives— meet to plot the assassination of the king, by sending him a bomb concealed in a potted plant. (Hence the title.)
To deliver it, they choose a girl florist (Tessa Wyatt).
But the men come to suspect that one of them is a police agent. The question in this play is not "whodunit" but "whoisit." Who is the odd man out and what will he do?
