John Sergeant finds out more about the Avro Lancaster bomber which was at the centre of nearly every important British aeronautical mission of the Second World War. The shoe also brings together seven former crewmen, who remember being in cramped conditions at heights of 20,000ft for hours at a time, where the temperature often fell to around minus 40C.
