26x10: Fruits of Our Labor recap: Despite starting in first place, Laura & Tyler failed to book the earliest flight and fell to the back of the pack. But after failing to overcome their Speed Bump, it was Matt & Ashley who were eliminated. BIRTHDAY LUCK In a flashback to the previous leg in Amsterdam, Blair tried to get directions while Hayley once again yelled at him. He said, “You’re just screaming. You’re not doing anything productive.” In interview Hayley said, “Our problems are our status quo. It’s just how we roll.” Blair added, “I’ll continue to improve listening. She’ll continue to improve not freaking out.” Hayley cut in: “I don’t freak out.” SoCal blind-dating couple Laura & Tyler ripped the clue first at 12:40 a.m. It told them to fly nearly a third of the way around the world to Trujillo, Peru. Once there, they had to travel by taxi to the Plaza de Armas, and take part in the fireworks festivities. Heading to a travel agency, the couple read that flight reservations had already been made for them. Laura said if she was on the Race with a boyfriend they’d probably argue more, and being with someone without a pre-existing relationship was actually easier. She also revealed that it was her thirtieth birthday. “So I’m hoping that birthday luck plays a role in this leg.”..

Continuing in Namibia, Matt & Ashley and Laura & Tyler double U-Turned lawyers Jelani & Jenny and Olympians Aly & Steve. The lawyers played their Express Pass and remained in the middle of the pack, but Aly & Steve never gained ground, and were eliminated. Amidst the golden granite peaks of Spitzkoppe in Namibia, teams arrived at the Pit Stop to find a campsite. They settled in, Jenny saying, “Don’t let the bedbugs bite, because I know there will be a lot of bugs.” Aly & Steve arrived after their non-elimination, and were greeted with cheers and high-fives by the rest of the teams. Everyone then gathered to watch a beautiful sunset. Aly said, “It’s so Africa.” As a herd of elephants crossed their view, she added, “It’s seriously perfect.” The next morning, engaged hairstylists Matt & Ashley ripped the clue first at 6:47 a.m...

Laura & Tyler achieved their second win in a row, but Matt & Ashley couldn’t overcome a disastrous Roadblock. They arrived at the Pit Stop last, but were spared by non-elimination. Arriving at their second desert Pit Stop in Namibia, teams once again found tents. Tyler said, “Camping is better after a victory, though.” Hayley then asked Blair to set up her tent. The medics explained that they had common goals, but they sometimes sounded angry when expressing themselves. Hayley said their relationship was a work in progress, “And it’ll continue to be, I’m sure.” That night, all the teams dined together. Matt assured Jelani & Jenny that when he and Ashley U-Turned them, they were just playing the game. Jelani said they didn’t need to apologize, but in interview he added that you want to make sure the team you U-Turn is eliminated. Jenny added, “Matt & Ashley used up their one U-Turn on us, and it really didn’t make a difference because we’re still here.” She added that if they were to single out a team in the future, it’d be the team that U-Turned them...

A daring scramble up a rock led to a narrow win for Matt & Ashley, but Aly & Steve never recovered from a flat tire. They came in last, but were spared by non-elimination. In Monaco, SoCal couple Laura & Tyler had their second Date Night, sipping wine on a veranda with stunning views of the Mediterranean. Tyler said, “We’re getting along better than most of the other teams. We both have a mutual respect for one another, and we genuinely are having a great time.” Medics Hayley & Blair ripped the clue first at 12:35 a.m. It told them to fly down the length of the African continent to Windhoek, Namibia. When they landed, they’d sign up for another flight on one of six bush planes. Running for a taxi, Hayley & Blair said they had confidence from the last leg, and had worked out their communication issues. Hayley added, “That’s just a preview of what’s to come.”..

After switching cars, Laura & Tyler left their fanny pack behind, and lost time waiting to retrieve it. But it was Bergen & Kurt who were unable to drive stick shift, and were ultimately eliminated. On Date Night in Bangkok, Thailand, SoCal couple Laura & Tyler enjoyed dinner on a river cruise. Laura said they were getting along great, but “I’m so into the Race that I can’t really think about love.” Tyler agreed, but said they had mutual respect for one another. They capped off the night with a fireworks show… and a high-five. Bergen & Kurt ripped the clue first at 3:03 p.m. It told them to fly to Munich, Germany, and then travel by train to a clothing shop to get dressed for Oktoberfest. En route to the airport, Bergen said he was afraid Kurt would give up on him, since Kurt was only there for love...
