1981 saw Blazing Saddles, Chariots of Fire and Escape From New York being some of the most popular movies of the year while You Can’t Do That On Television was one of the popular shows. Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend” and .38 Special’s “Hold On Loosely” was some of the most played songs on the radio. Personal computers saw a rise in popularity thanks to the Osborne Computer. Some popular gadgets of 1981 include Erasermate’s erasable pens and Penny Racers.
