The concept behind The Brady Bunch was first conceived in 1966 when Sherwood Schwartz learned that 25% of families had children from past marriages. He thought of two-couples with children from both of their previous marriage to fall in love, and get married themselves, thus creating "The Brady Bunch". The show didn't premiere until 1968 after the success of the major motion-picture "Yours, Mine, and Ours" staring Henry Fonda and Lucille O'Ball. The show spanned for 5 seasons, and lasted 117 episodes, and spawned a lot of spin-offs, movies, and Brady merchandise.
When a stay-at-home divorcee Carol Martin meets widowed architect Mike Brady, the two fall in love, and they decide to get married. They both have children from their previous marriages - Carol with 3 daughters (Marcia, Jan, and Cindy) and Mike with 3 sons (Greg, Peter, and Bobby). The two move into a home designed by Mike, along with Mike's maid Alice. The series follows the family as they adjust, grow and become a family.
