Undercover, a six part limited series, features lead character Maya (Sophie Okonedo) who is about to become the first black woman to hold the highest ranking public prosecutor role in England.
Just as her life comes under intense public scrutiny she discovers her husband Nick (Adrian Lester), and the father of her children, has been lying to her for years. Is he concealing an affair, or is it something altogether more sinister? If she digs up his real past will she jeopardize her own future? What price do you pay for uncovering lies? Maya continues her fight to ‘Go big’ and the establishment start to feel concerned about the rigorous light she threatens to shine on areas they would prefer remain kept in the shadows.
With Rudy’s words on her mind, Maya returns to London and finds out that she’s been tipped to take the role of Director of Public Prosecutions, a position that could allow her to finally bring to justice the death of her friend Michael Antwi. Maya’s husband Nick Johnson is a man dedicated to his wife and children and when the past threatens to destroy his world, he needs to decide what lengths he will go to protect his family.
