The Rosses arrive at Camp Kikiwaka. The camp's owner Gladys, seems to be even scarier than a legendary creature that stalk the camp. With the help of her niece Hazel Heidi, the two are out to get the Ross kids, due to an old rivalry with Christina Ross.

Ravi becomes suspicious when he overhears Xander’s plans for his first date with Emma. Meanwhile, Zuri and Jorge set up a secret business selling candy and video games to the campers.

Emma and Xander lose the camp spirit stick, which curses the campers with bad luck! Meanwhile, Jorge and Tiffany try to teach Ravi how to swim.

Emma and Xander team up for a fishing competition, but end up finding out that they have nothing in common. Meanwhile, Gladys chases the chef Murphy and is very desperate while Lou and Ravi try to find a large fish. Zuri and Tiffany get caught cheating by stuffing a fake fish, losing their title at the contest, Lou realizes that the search is more important than the result.

Zuri keeps her cell phone longer than the allotted time; Hazel and Lou conduct a search and Emma is stuck between lying to her new friend or betraying her sister; Tiffany and Ravi make a cell phone tower that's hidden in the totem pole.

Emma and Lou try to make friends with Hazel in order to get on her good side. Meanwhile, a TV producer named Dr. Hunter Brody shows up at Camp Kikiwaka and the children join him in his search for the Kikiwaka.

After getting lost due to Xander's poor sense of direction, Zuri, Xander, Tiffany, and Jorge discover a cabin up in the mountains. They meet an old man and ask for directions; he gives them directions, but in a rude manner as he doesn't appear to like children and wants them to go away. As they're leaving, Jorge rushes back in because he really has to use the bathroom. When he takes a wrong turn on the way back out, he discovers that the old man is Santa. Meanwhile, Emma and Lou want to get each other nice gifts to show each other how much their friendship means, but after listening to bad advice from Ravi, they both try to get each other something other than what they were originally going to get.

While Gladys is at a canoe convention in Atlantic City, Lou, Xander, and Hazel head to an area in the woods called "The Spot" where the counselors go. Curious about "The Spot," Emma plans to see what it is as Ravi works to maintain the order in Camp Kikiwaka while Emma is away.

Jorge feels homesick for his family as Xander and Ravi work to break his homesickness. After breaking the oven and microwave while on kitchen duty, Emma, Zuri, Lou, and Tiffany forage for food in the woods where Lou accidentally covers herself in Diablo Leaves which causes her to hallucinate. Gladys uses a website where she finds a possible love interest in a "Nigerian Prince" and prepares to meet him despite Lou's warnings about it being a scam.

Luke comes to Kikiwaka to ask Ravi for help with his summer school homework and meets Lou, Xander, Jorge, and Hazel. Meanwhile, the Kikiwaka counselors and campers get into a turf war with their rival Camp Champion over "The Spot".
