HBO has ordered two seasons of Animals produced by the Duplass brothers and created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano, which follows “the downtrodden creatures native to Earth’s least habitable environment: New York City. Whether its lovelorn rats, gender-questioning pigeons or aging bedbugs in the midst of a midlife crisis, the awkward small talk, moral ambiguity and existential woes of non-human urbanites prove startlingly similar to our own.” The series debuted its first two episodes at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and a ton of funny people fill up the voice cast including Katie Aselton, Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, Chelsea Peretti, Rob Corddry, Molly Shannon, Adam Scott, Nathan Fielder, and more. Animals will premiere on HBO sometime next year. (Source: HBO)
