God wants Joan to score an "A" on a test about French saint Joan of Arc. As the teen hits the books, she draws comparisons to the life of the young heroine who claimed to hear divine voices and was burnt at the stake. Helen finds her daughter's newest obsession troublesome and urges Will to have the entire family visit a therapist. Meanwhile, Will is unjustly raked over the coals for shutting down a crack house.

Episode Quotes |
| |
Terry Ann: What's the issue?
Grace: Recalls are very popular these days. That's all you need to know. | Adam: Whatever, Joan. | Joan: She wasn't a paranoid schizophrenic with a miscellaneous complex?
Grace: Are you trying to say "messianic complex?"
Joan: Oh. I guess. | Joan: Does this mean you're talking to me again?
Adam: Explain the situation, Grace.
Grace: I told him I'd feed him his hat if he didn't help. | Grace: Stop whining, get on your blowtorch, and fix the thing. | Grace: Hello Rove? Did your photographic memory run out of film? | Painter (God): Martyrs did things the hard way and were willing to except the consequences, just like I'm asking you to do. | Joan: Wait, we're gonna have assignments? I can't have any more assignments...a-a-are you a therapist...or are you, you?...(whispering) blink twice if you know what i mean...(winks...everyone looks at her like she is crazy) I'm not crazy! | Terry Ann: Grace, my feet hurt.
Grace: Did I ask you to dress like a Republican? |
