A rainstorm in Lawndale causes the roof at Lawndale High to cave in. To raise the money needed to fix it, Ms. Li organizes a "mandatory voluntary" medieval fair, which will feature a production of "The Canterbury Tales". Quinn wins the lead role, opposite Kevin, and a jealous Brittany tries to keep Kevin away from the fair. At the fair, Daria and Jane take a Ferris wheel ride with Stacy, who's upset over being dumped.

Episode Quotes

Jane: Uh-oh, someone just put us in a position of responsibility.
Daria: The day has suddenly turned sinister.

Ms. Li: You will voluntarily volunteer at the carnival or voluntarity buy a ticket ... or voluntarily face detention.

(after Ms. Li announces the fair)
Daria: That may be the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.
Jane: I know. We gotta go!

Daria: Look, don't flush your entire world down the drain just because some jerk didn't ask you out on a second date. It probably had nothing to do with you anyway.
Jane: Unless you did something really stupid, like bore him with your petty problems and convoluted logic.
Stacy: Why would I do that?
