This show is about a mortal man who marries a witch and later bore children with special powers, too. Darrin Stevens (Dick York) works for an advertising agency with his boss Larry Tate (David White). A hard working man, Darrin was unaware of his wife Samantha's (Elizabeth Montgomery) powers before they had wed, and once she was outed, demanded that no one ever finds out that she is a witch. This becomes hard when her meddling mother, Endora (Agnes Moorehead), "pops" in for a visit, not to mention the rest of her family. Endora doesn't think too much of "Darwood" as she refers to him, or his mortal ways and encourages Samantha to use her powers to get ahead in the world. The Stevens' neighbors are the Kravitz'. Gladys Kravitz (Alice Pearce) is the only one who seems to catch a peek at the weird happenings at the Stevens household, and has trouble convincing her husband of the strange things she has witnessed. The second season saw the addition of Tabitha (Erin Murphy), the Stevens' first child. Just like Samantha, Tabitha was born a witch, a secret that she attempts to keep from Darrin. Later in the series the Stevens added Adam (David Lawrence), their second child. It seemed at first that Adam was a mortal, but it was later discovered that he was a warlock. Due to a back injury, Dick York was replaced by Dick Sargent (1969-1972) as Darrin, and Alice Pearce was replaced by Sandra Gould as Mrs Kravitz due to an illness.
Tabitha went on to be a spin off show.
