Not impressed! Basically the same plot as in the original only not as well done. The spacecraft isn't impressive considering this series has started over 25 years after the original series ended. It could have been much better if they had picked up from where the old series left off. |

I really wanted to like this more than I did.
It was okay but it was WAY to rushed. Granted, I may have felt that was because I'm a big fan of the original mini-series (I've never seen the short lived series).
Underwhelming is a perfect word to describe the pilot episode.
Also, I hadn't known until tonight about the 4 episodes and then a 6 month break. That's what killed my interest in Jericho. It almost doesn't seem worth it to invest time in the series knowing that. |

"Not impressed!" & "I really wanted to like this more than I did."
Both statements pretty well sum it up for me. I also agree that it was rushed, a little more time to sucker us in would have been better I believe. To many plot lines and to soon.
Something between this series and FlashForward would be about right. |

I liked it. Certainly had some faults - like the passage of time felt too fast and it left us to fill in the blanks of what happened in those missing weeks. Other than Elizabeth Michell's character and her son, I don't care about any of the characters yet, so hopefully the development of that will step up.
But I was sort of feeling that the 3 main stories didn't seem to go together, and then at the end they did all intertwine in a way that was satisfactory to me. The first glimpse of Visitor brain certainly shocked me a little - not only how it looked, but who it was.
I'll tune in again next week for sure. |

Oh yeah, I'll tune in again; in spite of the cheesy moments.
An important quote from last nights show was when FBI Agent Erica Evens said "they were arming themselves with the most important weapon of all - devotion." Sounded religious in nature didn't it? Of course misplaced devotion can be dangerous. This could be a very good psychological thriller if done right, but I don't have high expectations.
Just what exactly is the mineral they need??? I wonder, Is it earth itself? |

I have not seen anything from the original show or anything like that, and I must say I didn't find it all that interesting, not sure if I'll even watch the second episode, probably depends on my mood next week |

I was wondering about the "we need water and one other thing" V-speak. Cos iirc we never did find out what that other thing was - could be human brains which idkay but I'm kinda attached to mine.
All in all I'm staying, if only to see more sexy aliens and Elizabeth Mitchell kicking lizard ass - and yes I am that shallow. |

The V's said they needed a common mineral. (and water)
It's OK to be shallow when it comes to ass-kicking women.
What I want to know is what dumb nitwit ABC executive allows a show to go on a hiatus after only 4 episodes??? Now that's cold blooded lizard thinking. |

I liked it. Having never watched the original, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but thought it was pretty intriguing. I really liked Elizabeth Mitchell's (Juliet!) character, and was shocked that the one guy is a "V". The episode had some odd moments -- like everyone in New York cheering after the announcement from Anna -- but it's definitely a show I'll keep watching.
I didn't know about the 4 episodes than hiatus thing.... that totally blows. |

OK, I've watched the original series. The "We come in peace, and we need minerals... blablabla".. almost from the same original script.
What I didn't like is that I find it quite stepping on the gas to go to "Mom, I got into a fight..." to "OK, there are aliens, the want to look harmless, but they are reptilian and want to kill us all.." in just one episode.
Let's hope the script writers read what people think about their show (this forum) and react. I wouldn't like a cliffhanger in the near future. |

Yeah, a lot of comments about the excessive speed of the series and most are not very positive. We can only hope that there is a reason behind the madness.
The biggest problem is going to be the hiatus (until next March) after the first 4 episodes air. Unless the next 3 episodes are very special the hiatus alone will lose viewers. |
