I've lost count of all the Knight Rider spinoff and TV Movies. None of them have compared or lasted as long as the original.
Latest news is that Will Arnett has been replaced by Val Kilmer:

Kilmer in this would be great adds in a lot of credibility. |

Damn, I love Will Arnett.
It looks like it might be decent, but it'll be hard to live up to the original. |

I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. It seemed kind of slow to me.

Depends if NBC picks it up as a series or not. The movie was a back door pilot, so if it got enough viewers, NBC might pick it up for the 2008-2009 season. |

Thought it went well considering what it needed to live up to.
The car and voice was overall a good choice, although I know die-hard fans probably wont agree, however it looked the part! Shame about the heavy Ford placement though throughout the show and a shame that they couldnt find a way for KITT to escape an SUV on a country road!
Im a huge fan of the original series (even to this day) and I found it enjoyable to watch this updated version. Sure, its not lit the world alight but what pilots do. It takes (IMHO) a couple of series for something to establish itself as worthwhile and I hope that the Internet gives this show a chance or all our lives will be worse off with another reality TV show or worse!
Im also pleased that the Hoff had a small but sensible part. Was a pleasant emotional tie in for his character.
And of course, how many of you expected the artic transporter at the end - lol |

It wasn't bad...I would have liked to see more upgrades to K.I.T.T besides the morphing some of the stuff they showed (like the GPS and the bulletproof windows and stuff) was from the original.
The actors were decent though. Hasselhoff could have had a bigger part but I know they're probably going a different route here. I did enjoy the commercials with Traceur and K.I.T.T (a movie within a movie).
Do you guys think they'll actually make Knight Rider 2010 by 2010? |

Watched the first three episodes, so I gave it a chance, but won't watch anymore episodes.

It seems after BSG's success those NBC/Universal execs will probably keep greenlighting every 70s or 80s show remake pitch they get for the next few years...
The Bionic Woman remake was a failure because it was just lame. Knight Rider 2008 is not only lame, but it's also silly, and I think that's what keeps this show on the air - it just got picked up for a full season - but I'll be surprised if they make it to second.. |
