1978 saw horror movies Midnight Express and Dawn of the Dead scaring moviegoers while science fiction television fans got their fill of the genre with Battlestar Galatica and Doctor Who. Blonde and Devo ruled the radio waves while the popularity of Disco was starting to fall rapidly. Other things that where popular include the Ginsu knife and Charmin’s commercials starring Mr. Whipple, while the comic pages around the country were introduced to a chubby feline named Garfield.
