The self-proclaimed “rednecks” who are the subjects of this new reality series are five “backwoods” guys from the rocket city — Huntsville, Ala., home to NASA’s Marshall Flight Center and the birthplace of the U.S. space program. They love to shoot stuff, but with a family tree full of NASA rocket scientists (not to mention their own PhDs and advanced degrees), they aim a little higher — like launching a homemade rocket.
Each episode shows how these men apply redneck ingenuity with advanced engineering and physics to creatively solve real-world problems, all while having a little fun. They’ll test bombproofing theories using an old pickup truck, simulate an asteroid strike with a watermelon, explore alternative energy sources with junkyard parts and even build a real-life Iron Man suit with the potential to be used in combat.
