In my opinion, The Simpsons haven't been funny in years. Some will agree with this, and some will disagree, such is the freedom of opinions, but to me, the show really hasn't made a dent in the past few years in regards to providing me with the classic sophisticated balance of comedy and drama I've seen capable from these writers.

Transformers: Challenge of the Rock Lords |

As a die-hard Transfan, and as a cinema fan, I've found a new trend developing, that of enjoying senseless, over the top, substance less trollop, and unlike the days when this occurred in the 1980s, audiences are refusing to diverse themselves anymore. Movies with any concrete sign of intelligence has no place in the popcorn's den, and this was proven correct with the sad state of criticism thrown at Superman Returns and Spider-Man 3, movies that weren't remotely as bad as some claim, and compared to this, stand tall as comic films that paid attention to their characters, and didn't lose them in the mix. Something this did in spades.
