So...it's officially fall and the start of the new TV season. I made a list of all the shows I'm looking forward to starting. There were only about 6 or so.
Lately it seems I watch a lot more Food Network, History and Discovery shows....it's odd because I like TV I'm just not super psyched about the stuff the networks have been tossing out lately. There's been a lot of remakes (although to be fair...that's a Hollywood thing, not just TV) and not even great ones. Did we really need another "Knight Rider"? "90210"? "Melrose"? Was it really necessary to bring "The Witches of Eastwick" to the small screen? I guess so, considering they're working on putting the "A-Team" on the big screen.
I'm kind of just doing a train of thought rant here so if you're reading along bear with me. I like the "Big Bang Theory" and the season premiere didn't disappoint...the "Office" did though, a little at least, I expected more. Is tonight "CSI"? Tomorrow should be "Smallville"...but isn't moving a show to Friday night like signing it's death warrant? And Sunday is "Dexter"! Looking forward to them all...but I'd be lying if I said I had high hopes for any...I just feel like a lot of the scripted shows we've been getting handed to us have been sub-par. Shows I really liked once upon a time (Heroes) I've given up on because they lost their "umph" at least that's my opinion. It's not just American TV either...I watch a lot of BBC America too and I was disappointed by the 3rd series of "Primeval"...just didn't think it lived up to the promise of the first one.
And don't get me started about cartoons...I've said many times before...I just don't know what happened to Saturday mornings!
My rant is over (for the moment) go in peace... |

| The only show I've even caught the new season of is Glee. I have a few others I want to watch but I haven't gotten around to it. Go figure. |

| The new shows this fall are mostly blah in my opinion, I've seen a lot of the pilots and only one I have hopes for so far is FlashForward, that could become a good show. |
