Kimchi is Chowder’s pet stink cloud. He lives at Mung Daal Catering’s residential quarters, in a cage beside Chowder’s bed, though the cage doesn’t prevent him from getting out. Despite being a gaseous being, Kimchi is capable of picking things up and carrying them away; he is also capable of eating and using the toilet, though an explanation was never given about how such is possible. Nothing is known about where he came from, but Chowder truly loves him and he does whatever he can to make Kimchi happy; since Kimchi is a stink cloud, most people find him disgusting, and he’s even been banned from several establishments, though Chowder doesn’t mind his stench and tries to convince people that Kimchi hasn’t done anything wrong. Kimchi can only speak by talking in fart noises, which Chowder can understand, though whether or not anybody else can understand him remains to be seen.
