Hawthorne Heights started out playing on several different tours alongside Coheed And Cambria and From Autumn To Ashes. In late 2003, the band signed to Victory Records.
On November 24, 2007, guitarist Casey Calvert was found dead on the band's tour bus. An autopsy revealed he died of a multiple drug intake. His name is credited in the liner notes of the band's 2008 album Fragile Future though the album does not feature him on any of the tracks. The band stated they have no intention of replacing him.
