Jennifer Carpenter is an American actress, and was born on December 7, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky. Carpenter studied drama at New York's prestigious Julliard school, but before she could even graduate, she was hired to appear in a stage production of 'The Crucible' alongside Liam Neeson and Laura Linney. In 2004, Carpenter played a memorable supporting role in the decidedly unmemorable Wayans Brothers comedy 'White Chicks.'
She got her big break a year later, playing the physically demanding title role in the horror flick 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose.' This higher profile lead to her greatest character yet, that of Debra Morgan on Showtime's hit serial killer drama 'Dexter.' She played the role until the series ended in 2013. During the show's 8-year run, she also found the time to appear in movies like 'Quarantine,' 'Faster,' and 'Battle in Seattle.'
