Larry Mullen, Jr. was born Lawrence Joseph Mullen, Junior in Dublin, Ireland to Larry, Sr. and Maureen Mullen. He picked up the drums at the age of nine and later became a part of a marching band. As a teenager, he posted a paper at school asking other students to join his band. These people would be later known as U2.
