Cory Allan Michael Monteith was born on May 11th, 1982 in Calgary, Alberta but he grew up in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Montieth struggled through school and adolescence, falling into the wrong crowds and developing a drug an alcohol addiction
by age 13. At age 19 Montieth entered rehab for his addictions with the help and support of his family and friends.
Montieth's career began with small guest-roles on shows such as ‘Smallville,’ ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Kyle XY.’ He became famous for his role as jock turned musical star, Finn Hudson, on the Fox musical comedy ‘Glee.’
On March 30th of 2013, Monteith checked himself into a rehab facility for substance addiction. With the full support of his family, friends co-stars and fans Montieth appeared to be on the path to recovery once again. 'Glee' co-star, and fiancée, Lea Michele would frequently travel to Vancouver to stay with Montieth.
In July 2013, Montieth died of a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol in a Vancouver hotel room after a night out with friends.
