Black Eyed Peas
 |
General Information (Black Eyed Peas) |
| |
| Mostly Credited As: | Black Eyed Peas |
| Country Of Birth: | USA |
The Black Eyed Peas started in the year 1989, at the time will.i.am (Will Adams) and Apl.de.ap (Allen Pineda) graduated. Together they sung in the Los Angeles' streets, gaining there some fame. Later the nephew of their manager Jerry Heller joined the band, calling himself "Eazy-E", and along with other friend, Dante Santiago, they created the band "Atban Klann". However, their first record wasn´t released by their recording company, Ruthless Records, thinking the album was "absurd".
Years later, Eazy-E died of AIDS, being replaced by Jaime Gómez, later known as Taboo, and changing the band´s name to "Black Eyed Peas". His first album, "Behind the Front", was released in 1998, mixing both "hip-hop" and "soul". The songs "Positivity" and "Be Free" are considered by lot of people as "the best songs ever".
In the year 2003, "Fergie", Stacy Ferguson, joined the band with the release of their new album, "Elephunk", considered the one that boost their popularity.
