Salli Richardson-Whitfield

Salli Richardson - sometimes listed or referred to as Salli Richardson-Whitfield - is an accomplished actress who didn’t get her start on the small or big screen, but rather on the stage. Before she made her way to television and movies, she was an avid theater buff. Richardson got her start at the Kuumba Workshop in Chicago. Eventually, she moved to Los Angeles and stepped into the TV and film world. Her first role on the silver screen was the 1991 movie “Up Against the Wall.” After that, she quickly made her way into the acting world. She is most popular for her role on Syfy’s “Eureka” as Allison Blake. Her character was most popular for having a love interest with leading man Jack Carter, played by Colin Ferguson. During the filming of Season 3, Richardson became pregnant with her second child. Producers decided to turn real life into fiction by writing it into the script. “Eureka” was more than just a notch on her acting resume, but provided all sorts of opportunities. For example, the show gave her the chance to direct; her directorial debut. Richardson directed two episodes: “Omega Girls” and “Worst Case Scenario.” Allison Blake has been one of her biggest roles yet, and it even got her a 2011 Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series. “Eureka” isn’t her only accomplishment, but she’s also scored recurring roles on several other TV series including “Mercy Point,” “Family Law,” “Rude Awakening,” and “CSI: Miami.” She’s also appeared on other hit series like “Silk Stalkings,” “Bones,” “Criminal Minds” and “The Newsroom.” She’s even dabbled in voiceover work, when she voiced Elisa Maza in the 1994 animated TV series “Gargoyles.” She truly is a woman of many talents. She is currently married to actor Dondre Whitfield. They have two children, daughter Parker and son Dre.
