"There was this moment, I think I was about 4 years old, and my parents and their friends were having a party and they were all sitting around the living room, the music was playing and I was sort of dancing wildly. I mean, I was really into it and everyone there was entertained. And I remember I was like, 'Wow, man, I'm watchable!'" - Lee Tergesen
Since then, Lee Allen Tergesen has focused on acting. After graduating from the American Theatre and Dramatic Academy in 1985, Lee did a lot of stage work in New York City. However, from 1986-89 he primarily worked at the Empire Diner. That's where he met Tom Fontana who live around the corner from the diner. Tom took Lee under his wing and got him a role in the surfing-action-detective movie "
Point Break," which turned out to be his big break.
In 1992, Lee would appear as Terry in "
Wayne's World." Had a recurring role on Tom Fotana's
Homicide: Life on the Street. He got a series regular role playing Chett Donnelly, the militant brother in
Weird Science. Lee met up with Tom Fontana and discussed a prison drama that Fontana was producing for HBO. Lee was casted to play Prisoner #97B412, Tobias Beecher in
Oz, a part Tom wrote for him.
Oz ended in 2003.
Lee had several guest apperances and/or supporting roles in TV shows and movies, including
ER,
The 4400,
CSI and
Rescue Me. Lee went back to the theater in October of 2004, appearing in an off-broadway play with Matthew Broderick.
Recently, Lee appears in
Wanted, as U.S. Marshal Eddie Drake. The series premiered in August-September and December 2005 on cable channel TNT. The series was not picked up for a second season. Lee was recently on
Desperate Housewives in a 5 episode stint. Lee was casted in the pilot of Sunset Comfort, but FOX didn't pick up. Lee will be in
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, the prequel to the original
Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Lee will be in the second season of Showtime's anthology series,
Masters of Horrors.
