Steve Carell was born August 16, 1963 in Acton, Massachusetts. Steve attended Middlesex School in Concord.

He performed with the Chicago troupe of The Second City in 1991.

He is married to Nancy Walls, who was a Daily Show correspondent. Steve was also a correspondent for The Daily Show, and also appeared in recurring sketches.

Carell is currently starring in NBC's remake of the British sitcom The Office. He won a Golden Globe in 2006 for "Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Musical Or Comedy". He was the title character in the 2005 film The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which he developed and co-wrote. Carell also appeared in the 2005 remake of Bewitched.

He was also cast in the Julia Louis-Dreyfus sitcom Watching Ellie (2002–2003), and had parts the film Bruce Almighty as Jim Carrey's rival, and in The Legend of Ron Burgundy. He has also done some voice work on TV.
