Maya Goodwin was born and raised in Los Angeles. She decided to become an actress at the age of 9 and upon graduation her career took off. Her biggest break to date is the role of young Rene Jackson on Lifetime's "Any Day Now" (1998). Maya contributes her professional success to her supportive family. She is a member of a Los Angeles church and is active in many charitable programs. She is involved with Helpers for the Homeless & Hungry as well as sponsoring a young girl in South Africa. When Maya isn't working or helping others, her hobbies include cooking and surfing the Internet for investment tips. She studies Hapkido Karate and hopes to earn a black belt. Maya's mentors include Angela Bassett, Samuel Jackson, and Whoopi Goldberg.
