Amy Morton stars as Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt, a tough-as-nails desk sergeant on the NBC drama “Chicago P.D.”
Morton is an actress, director and artistic associate of Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. As an actress, she has appeared in more than 30 productions for the theater and has appeared on Broadway in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” and “August: Osage County” (receiving Tony and Drama Desk nominations for best actress in both productions), as well as “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
Film credits include “Up in the Air,” “The Dilemma,” “Rookie of the Year,” “8MM,” “Falling Down” and the indie “Bluebird.”
On the TV side, Morton appeared throughout season two of Starz’s critically acclaimed series “Boss.”
Directing credits include “The Way West,” “Penelope,” “Clybourne Park,” “American Buffalo,” “Glengarry Glen Ross,” “The Pillowman,” “Dublin Carol” and many others.
Prior to joining Steppenwolf, Morton was a member of the Remains Theatre Ensemble for 15 years.
