Dan Bakkedahl was born in Rochester Minnesota where he went to school started college. He finished his studies in Florida at the Florida State University where he was a member of the fraternity Chi Phi. He spent time touring with the Repertory Theater of America before settling down in Chicago and developing his skills as a performer. He can still be seen around Los Angeles on stage doing improv comedy with a few different groups, The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Improve Comedy Lab, and at the Magnet Theater.
His break into television came when he landed a correspondent role on
'The Daily Show'. After two years of that he began doing more television, by way of guest spots and commercials. Currently he plays a main part role,
"Steve Nugent" on FXX's comedy show
'Legit', alongside
Jim Jefferies and
DJ Qualls.
