Don Stark was born on August 20, 1954 in New York City. In high school, he joined the drama club when a friend dared him to do it. He was surprised when he actually won the lead role in a school play. Acting was not his only hobby – he also enjoyed bodybuilding, dancing, and martial arts. Stark attended California State University Northridge where he intended to study business, but the theater was in his blood by then and he switched his major, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater.
In the late 1980s Stark earned a regular role on the daytime drama,
General Hospital. He was also in several films, including
Peggy Sue Got Married (1986). He was cast as a Andrew Dice Clay’s goofy sidekick on the show
Bless This House in 1995, and had smaller guest roles on shows such as
Curb Your Enthusiasm, and
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He is best recognized for playing Bob Pinciotti, Donna’s father, on
That '70s Show.
Stark has two daughters. He enjoys coaching softball and also volunteers for the YMCA.
