Simon Pegg is a British actor most famous for his roles in the films 'Shaun Of The Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz', co-writing both of them. Pegg started out as comedian in the early 1990s before he created the show 'Six Pairs Of Pants' where he met his long time collaborators Jessica Hynes (formerly Stevenson) and Edgar Wright. He first started to gain recognition in 1997, when he appeared in a classic episode of Steve Coogan's 'I'm Alan Partridge'. This then lead to Pegg co-starring in the critically acclaimed sketch show 'Big Train' and a lead role in the cult classic show 'Hippies'.
However Pegg's real breakthrough came in 1999, when he co-wrote and starred in the hit 'Spaced' with his comedy partner Jessica Hynes. The show lasted two series and gained huge popularity, gaining cult status. In 2004, Pegg was catapulted to stardom across the world when he wrote the zombie film 'Shaun Of The Dead' with Edgar Wright, also starring in it with his best friend Nick Frost. Pegg again teamed up with Wright, to create the British police comedy 'Hot Fuzz' which again received acclaim like Pegg's previous film.
Pegg has had bit parts in the tv shows 'Black Books' and 'Band Of Brothers', whilst also appearing in the films 'Mission Impossible III', 'Land Of The Dead' and 'The League Of Gentleman's Apocalypse'. In 2007, the David Schwimmer directed film 'Run, Fat Boy, Run' was released in which Pegg starred.
In 2008, an adaption of the Toby Young book 'How to Lose Friends and Alienate People' will be released starring Pegg alongside Kirsten Dunst and Megan Fox. Also due in 2008 is a film tentatively titled 'Paul' which will be written by Pegg and his friend Nick Frost.
