At age 10, he realized that he had a dream. A lifelong dream of being the first people on TV to say, "There's liquid inside this gum!" on an advertisement for Freshen-Up bubble gum. He got some rare reviews and moved on to other roles. Richard was re-inventing himself constantly and that payed off when in 1977 when he was chosen to model Kent and His Cosmic Cruiser doll, which was from Mattel. Two years after, he started to get tired of modeling.
In the 80's, he was devoting most of his time to his studies. Once in a while, he'd show up in some classic TV shows. Richard studied Theater Arts at UCLA in 1984 for a quarter. He went on to star in Safe at Home after he had mastered everything that UCLA had to offer.
During the Safe at Home production, he took a 3 month hiatus to shoot a role that would be his most enduring yet. He returned to Safe at Home to finish the show.
After Safe at Home was canceled, Richard went on to work on The Munsters Today, a remake of Munsters. He guest starred in 7 out of 10 episodes.
Richard began to get sick of the paparazzi. He challenged himself to not appear in the hit TV series and movies of the day as part of the cast. He gambled instead.
A friend of his commented on his voice and said it was unique. After that, in 1994, he began the association with Nickelodeon that would be long running. He would star as Daggett in the Angry Beavers. The show lasted for 65 half-hour episodes that still continue to air on Nicktoons Network. His next role was the alien, ZIM, on the short-lived, but highly praised show called Invader ZIM. After that, he worked on doing the voice of Billy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, which is currently still running.
Besides that, Richard also worked on many animated series, feature films, and commercials.
His greatest satisfaction is in his personal life, when he married to Playright Kristen Lazarian and they have 3 sons.
