Julia Louis-Dreyfus was born in New York city on January 13. Her ethnic background is part Jewish and part French.

Julia was a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live from 1982 to 1985. While working at SNL, she met Larry David, a writer who would later help create the sitcom, Seinfeld.

She met her husband, Brad Hall, while they were students at Northwestern University. They also worked together at SNL. Hall is an actor and writer. They have two sons.

Julia is best known for playing the character Elaine Benes on NBC's Seinfeld from 1990 to 1998.

After Seinfeld ended, Julia starred in a sitcom called Watching Ellie, which unfortunately didn't last long. She has had a recurring role on Fox's Arrested Development. She has a new sitcom in the works at CBS, set for the fall of 2006.
