Randy Jackson is an American musician/music producer/TV personality and was born on June 23, 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While Jackson has been playing bass guitar and producing records (for artists like Journey, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, and Mariah Carey) since the 80's, he didn't come to national prominence until 2001. That year, he began a now 11 year run as a judge on the mega hit reality competition series American Idol. He is now the only original cast member remaining outside of host Ryan Seacrest. Outside of his Idol gig, Jackson produces the reality competition series America's Best Dance Crew for MTV.
