Daisy Fuentes was born on November 17, 1966 in Havana, Cuba. Her family moved to Madrid, Spain when she was just three years old, and eventually emigrated to Harrison, New Jersey. Fuentes attended Harrison High School, and graduated in 1984. She majored in communications and journalism at Bergen Community College.
When she was just nineteen, Fuentes became a weather girl for the local news station, WXTV, and was quickly moved up to evening news reporter. MTV hired her as the host of MTV Internacional, (later called MTV Latino). Fuentes was given a role on the daytime drama,
Loving, and made appearances on other shows including
Dream On,
Cybill, and
The Larry Sanders Show. She was also one of the hosts of
America's Funniest Home Videos, from 1997 – 2000.
Fuentes is also a model, doing ads for Revlon, M&M;'s, and Miller Lite. She married her high school boyfriend, actor
Timothy Adams in 1991, though they divorced in 1995. Currently, she is engaged to British singer/songwriter
Matt Goss.
