Shalhoub won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2003 and in 2005 for the role as Adrian Monk, as well as a Golden Globe in 2003 and a SAG Award in 2004 and 2005. | One of his first television roles was as 'Antonio' in the long-running sitcom Wings. | Shalhoub is married to the film actress Brooke Adams, and is the brother-in-law of former Guiding Light actress Lynne Adams. | In addition to his acting work, Shalhoub, along with the Network of Arab-American Professionals and Zoom-in-Focus productions, established The Arab-American Filmmaker Award Competition in 2005. | Tony Shalhoub has two daughters. | His brother Dan is the inventor and manufacturer of the Sha-Poopie, a device to aid in the disposal of dog waste. |
