Tony Shalhoub

Tony Shalhoub is an American actor, born on October 9, 1953. Tony has become a big hit thanks to his role on the television series, Monk. He serves as both the star, and executive producer for the series.

Tony’s father was an immigrant, having moved to the United States from Lebanon. His father then married a Lebanese-American, whom of which is Tony’s mother. Tony also has a few brothers an sisters, whom are responsible for Tony’s break into the acting business.

Tony was first introduced to the stage when he was but six years old, when his sister had volunteered to bring his brother in to be an extra for her school’s version of the play, The King and I. Tony did not have much to do with the play, but at that moment, he had become a big fan of the theater, and had created his dream of becoming a famous actor.

After that experience, Tony had graduated from college, and began to pursue a career as an actor. He had some roles in broad way, however, nothing was nearly as big as when he landed the role of Antonio Scarpacci for the sitcom, Wings. That role was the one that began his career. He also played the lead victim in one of the episodes from season two of the hit show, The X-Files. Not only working in the field of television, Tony began to work on movies. In the movie The Man Who Wasn't There, Tony played a very fast-talking lawyer, as well as play a pawn-shop owner in the movie, Men In Black, he was also in A Civil Action, 13 Ghosts, Big Night, The Last Shot and Cars. However, Monk has gotten Emmys as well as many other awards for his work on the television series.

Tony is married to the actress, Brooke Adams, and he has two daughters. His wife has been on Monk with him, as well as his brother.
