RFD-TV will be commemorating the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) 20th anniversary season by running a weekly series of the Built Ford Tough Series’ top 20 events of all time. The 90-minute series, aptly titled “PBR 20-20” will debut Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 8 p.m. ET. This is the first time the PBR and RFD-TV have partnered to open the PBR’s media vaults of historic events.
Each “PBR 20-20” episode is guaranteed to be full of the jaw-dropping excitement and adrenaline pumping action that has made PBR one of the world’s top extreme sports. The media staff at RFD-TV and the PBR combed through the archives to bring these thrilling moments back to life and make them available to millions of fans through RFD-TV’s broad-reaching cable and satellite distribution. The content, which has been carefully restored for broadcast, includes footage that has not been seen outside the PBR vault since it first aired some 20 years ago.
The selected events were carefully chosen by industry veterans who will be giving fans the opportunity to Tweet their opinions. The first 12 weeks will feature incredible competitions, including the St. Louis 2001 event, where PBR riders produced 11 90+ rides at one event – the equivalent of 11 grand slams in a baseball game. The series also includes historic accomplishments, such as all four of PBR’s 96.5-point rides, the highest-marked rides in PBR history. “PBR 20-20” would not be complete without that legendary Friday night from the 1999 PBR World Championships, which produced the single best ride in bull riding history.
