The pilot casting news just keeps on coming fast and furious, and TVRage is dedicated to keeping our readers on top of things. To start off this fine St. Patrick's Day, here are two new pilot additions.
First up is Alona Tal (most recently of USA's 'Burn Notice' and The CW's 'Cult,' but perhaps best known for the role of Jo Harvelle on 'Supernatural'), who is set to join the cast of upcoming Amazon Studios pilot 'Hand of God.'
Directed by 'World War Z' helmer Marc Forster, 'Hand of God' stars Ron Perlman as hard-living, morally questionable judge Harris Pernell. Judge Pernell's life of adultery and vice comes to a sudden end after he begins having unexplainable visions and hearing disembodied voices through his ventilator-bound son. Is Pernell going mad, or could this really be God telling him to change his ways? Tal is set to play Jocelyn, daughter-in-law to Judge Pernell.
Next on the docket is relatively unknown actress Sainty Nelsen (formerly Sainty Reid), whose biggest claim to fame up until now was an appearance on the web series 'Losin' It with John Stamos.' The series featured the erstwhile Uncle Jesse asking celebrities how they lost their virginity. Yes, this is a thing that people apparently watched, but I digress.
Anyway, Nelsen has signed on to join the cast of FX comedy pilot 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.' The series stars Denis Leary as washed up rock singer Johnny Rock, frontman of an early '90s band that looked to be on the cusp of greatness, only to be torn apart by backstabbing and infighting. Now middle-aged, Johnny wants to give it one more shot, and sets out to reunite the group. Nelsen will play Becky, best friend to supporting character Gigi (Elizabeth Gillies), a 22-year-old aspiring pop star.
