Tinker Bell is ready to eat some human brains! OK, not really, but the actress who portrays Tink on ABC’s ‘Once Upon a Time’ is taking on the lead role of a young zombie woman.
That’s right, Rose McIver will play female lead Olivia “Liv” Moore in CW’s drama pilot ‘iZombie.’
Based on the DC comic, the TV project, from ‘Veronica Mars’ team Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero, is a supernatural crime procedural that will follow med student-turned-zombie Liv. Not only does she begin working at a coroner’s office, but she also uses her job as a way to eat brains, which is how she maintains her humanity. However, there is a side effect (who would have thought?) to eating brains, as Liv inherits memories from each corpse.
When she's not busy being a zombie, Liv also solves homicide cases alongside her medical examiner boss/police detective (played by ‘Breakout Kings’ actor Malcolm Goodwin), as a way to quiet those disturbing voices in her head.
‘iZombie’ will also star ‘One Tree Hill’ alum Robert Buckley. He’ll portray former college football player-turned-environmental engineer Major, Liv’s former fiancé who’s still in love with her, but is trying to transition to the friend zone.
Other cast members include, ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum Nora Dunn as Liv’s mother, McIver’s fellow ‘OUAT’ castmate David Anders as villain Blaine, who bites off more than he can chew in the drug business, and ‘Last Man Standing’s Alexandra Krosney as Liv’s best friend and roommate, Peyton.
In addition to directing the pilot, Thomas and Ruggiero also co-wrote it, while Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheride will exec-produce.
