It’s ‘Looking’ to be a great day. That’s right, HBO has renewed the dramedy for a second season!
The series following three gay best friends living in San Francisco trying to figure out their lives and, obviously, “looking” for love, stars Jonathan Groff (Patrick), Murray Bartlett (Dom) and Frankie J. Alvarez (Agustín), who are all current series regulars.
With the renewal also comes the promotion of three guest-actors to series regulars, including Dom’s hilarious BFF and roommate, who has some of the best one-liners of the show, Doris (Lauren Weedman), Patrick’s boyfriend Richie (Raúl Castillo) and, of course, Kevin (Russell Tovey), Patrick’s boss who just might have eyes for Patrick. Do I sense a Patrick-Kevin-Richie love triangle for next season?
Just the other day ‘Looking’ hit a series high with 519K viewers aka a 54 percent increase from its January premiere.
An exact episode number has yet to be determined for the sophomore season, but production for Season 2 will begin later this year in San Francisco. No matter the episode count, I’m happy we’re getting more of this fantastic series and cast.
The series’ other guest-stars include Scott Bakula, as Lynn and love interest to Dom, O.T. Fagbenle, as Agustín’s partner Frank, T.J. Linnard, as CJ aka the hooker hired by Agustín, and Andrew Law, as Patrick’s co-worker Owen.
‘Looking’ airs Sundays, with its freshman season wrapping on March 9 at 10:30/9:30c on HBO.
