NBC won the night in all measures. Expect to see that up here for most, if not all, of the Olympics.
Speaking of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, the Opening Ceremony (which for some odd reason took place after the actual first night of athletic competition) garnered an 8.6 demo and and drew in over 31 million total viewers. That sounds (and is) pretty impressive, but it is also down a sharp eight tenths from the 9.4 earned by the opening ceremony that took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada back on Feb. 12, 2010.
Elsewhere, '20/20' predictably fell half a point to a 1.2 for ABC, and you can expect every new program that airs against the Olympics to sustain some big losses. The FOX comedy tag team of 'Enlisted' and 'Raising Hope earned a 0.7 and a 0.6 respectively, which is about average for both. On the bright side, both shows retained almost their entire audiences from last week, meager as they are.
