The ‘Devious Maids’ cast is about to get even more gorgeous. Mark Deklin (‘GCB,’ ‘Hawaii Five-0,’ ‘Lone Star’) is joining the Lifetime series as a Season 2 regular.
That’s right, the actor will play Nicholas, who is described as “a handsome, charming, well-educated and wealthy Beverly Hills businessman/philanthropist with many secrets, whose first wife died under mysterious circumstances.” It sounds like he’ll fit right in with all of the other characters.
This isn’t the only exciting scoop announced for the beloved dramedy, as a Season 2 premiere date was also revealed at the 2014 TCA’s (Television Critics Association). Fans can expect the sophomore season of ‘Devious Maids’ to debut on Sunday, April 20.
So, what can viewers expect from the upcoming season? Not only will Eva Longoria direct the season opener, but the official description reads, “Beverly Hills is hit by a wave of criminal activity that leaves its residents in a vulnerable situation. Meanwhile, Marisol (Ana Ortiz) engages in a new romance but quickly discovers there is more than meets the eye to her new lover."
Yes, Marisol marries a wealthy man, creator Marc Cherry revealed at the TCA’s. In addition, Marisol will have her own devious maid working for her, played by Joanna Adler. In previous news, Adler’s character, Opal, was described as secretive, conniving and somewhat resembling Mrs. Danvers from Hitchcock’s ‘Rebecca.’
The season description also adds, “Zoila’s (Judy Reyes) need to control everything starts to take a toll on her personal life, especially with Valentina (Edy Ganem), who is now working for a surprising new employer. Rosie’s (Dania Ramirez) immigration status is in flux, while Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) embraces her life in the limelight as the fiancée to a pop star.”
To end, Cherry also announced that not only will ‘Devious Maids’ see some new faces, but the series will also say goodbye to others.
