Three just might be a charmed number. Joining Shannyn Sossamon and Toby Jones on the set of M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Wayward Pines’ is Juliette Lewis. At age forty, she still looks like she stepped off a college campus instead of having an acting career that spans 34 years and dozens of movies. Most notably we remember her roles in ‘Natural Born Killers’ and ‘From Dusk till Dawn.’ She showed an additional versatility when she starred opposite Shirley MacLaine in ‘Evening Star,’ which was a follow up to the critically acclaimed ‘Terms of Endearment’ where she played Aurora’s granddaughter.
In 'Wayward Pines,' Lewis will play Beverly, an amenable bartender who doesn’t pull punches and calls it like she sees it in her small town. When secret service agent Ethan Burke (played by Matt Dillon) shows up to hunt down two missing agents, he encounters a soul who has his same misgivings and feelings about the town. Shyamalan himself is directing the pilot.
Ms. Lewis is well known for her musical capabilities. She has an album coming out this year, her first since the disbanding of ‘Juliette and the Licks.' From the looks of it, it’s a growth for the multi-talented artist and will showcase a wealth of emotions. The album will be entitled ‘Terra Incognita’ and the musicians she now plays with, ‘The New Romantiques’. With her creativity firmly on the upswing as of late it will be exciting to see what all Ms. Lewis pulls out of her very diverse hat!
