TLC will show ‘Wedding Island’ Thursday nights at 10pm Eastern. The show will premiere on Wednesday, July 17th, with the second episode airing the following night in its regular time slot.
Episodes will be about the challenges of organizing a destination wedding on the very beautiful, but very remote, Vieques Island. The island is located seven miles off the coast of Puerto Rico, and features exotic beaches and wonderful landscapes.
Sandy Malone, the owner of the event planning company Weddings in Vieques, will be at the center of the show. Over the years, Sandy and her husband (a retired Swat commander) have planned hundreds of weddings in the US Virgin Islands, as well as various events ranging from press conferences, to political gatherings.
Sandy’s take charge attitude will help deal with any problems that may arise, doing everything to ensure that a bride will enjoy her perfect day. The wedding planning team will have to deal with the island’s limited resources, unreliable vendors, time constraints, and the Caribbean’s always unpredictable climate.
The show will add to TLC’s wedding-themed shows, which already include: ‘Four Weddings;’ ‘I Found the Gown;’ ‘Something Borrowed, Something New;’ and different versions of ‘Say Yes to the Dress.’
