Nickelodeon is getting Scott Baio back together with the creator of his big break, Garry Marshall.
Marshall, who created 'Happy Days,' will be appearing on Baio's comedy series 'See Dad Run.' He will play the television father to Baio's character David, in the show within the show. Marshall's character (name unknown) is a former ladies man who, now that he is in his 70s, is attempting to settle down and start a family. However, he has second thoughts about that plan.
Marshall cast Baio as Fonzie's (Henry Winkler) cousin on 'Happy Days,' Chachi Arcola. He will be appearing this week at Paramount's Stage 19 to film his episode, which was the same soundstage 'Happy Days' filmed on from 1974-1984. Marshall's son Scott will be directing the episode.
Marshall's television background is legendary. He produced 'Mork & Mindy,' 'Laverne & Shirley' and 'Joanie Loves Chachi,' the 'Happy Days' spin-off which starred Baio and Erin Moran.
He is also an accomplished film director, as he has directed such hit films as 'Beaches,' 'Pretty Woman,' 'Exit to Eden,' 'Runaway Bride,' 'The Princess Diaries,' and 'Valentine's Day.' He also has done some acting, including a turn in 'A League of Their Own,' and in two episodes of 'Louie.'
Marshall and son Scott also recently created a comedy series for Fox called 'Golden Guys,' about a man who has to move back home with his family after losing his fortune.
Marshall's appearance will be on 'See Dad Run's second season and is expected to occur sometime this fall.
